Well he shouldn't just lunge her blindly. Instant fail. He needs to look out for the shy smile where she's unable to maintain eye contact for too long without blushing. When they're out somewhere and she chooses to always stand close to him.

Most girls just want the guy to pull in first, no matter how much they may want him. If they're hanging out all the time there's clearly something there, especially if she's shy around him

Either she kisses him back or she pulls away and puts him in his place. It's not the end of the world, and yes, believe it or not, there will in fact be other girls. Anything is better than the endless stressing etc etc
