yesterday i checked my balance and it said i have:

-19 free messages
-R197
-998MB

-my unbilled balance is R630 as per usual

today my account is blocked and i get this:

-19 free messages
-R197
-998MB

but now my current call charges are R791 and my unbilled balance becomes R1420!!:mad: where the fsck did R790 call charges come from if im still within my allocated bundles!:mad:

well done fsck heads but i'll be paying out my contract and leaving. excellent work!:mad:

Seems MTN is setting new standards - maybe they took over the iBurst accounting department? :D:D:D
 
I am suddenly unblocked again. My bills are all messed up. Sticking to prepaid for making calls and browsing. Idiots.
 
what's an MTN? is that almost like that virgin/cellC company?
 
Yeah I had my account blocked as a payment had not been allocated to my account, or so I would have to guess as I sent a message to them (online as this was the only way possible to contact them - i could not even dial their number from my phone! Another WTF) but never got a reply but all of a sudden I could use my phone again the next day.

I am considering paying for itemised billing as at the moment they seem to just be charging what they want!! My account was a lot higher last month than it has ever been.... coincidentally!

If you're on MTN you're insane not to have itemized billing - I have been double billed for items for almost 24 months... e.g. an MMS sent in one month is charged in two months...

I had 58MB left on my bundle in April, yet in June I am billed for data used in April out of bundle... etc. etc. etc.

Today I'm going to canal walk to initiate my port :)

VC sends warning SMS's as you get closer to your bundle end as I have just found out now on their forum.
MTN does not do so and their counter does not update as VC. VC updates like in real time.
MTN updates only every 4 to 10 days and last month they only updated 90 days. All those unupdated usage is charged at OOB. That is why you had an extramungus bill last month.

My SIM got locked as I reversed my overbilling at the bank.

I am now using prepaid until they sort this out.
 
Hopefully not an MTN prepaid SIM! :eek: I would not support them any longer if I had to go through something like this!

Yes, prepaid MTN AND they are not charging me for some reason. Been on 3 days with no charge.

A client high in the MTN ranks told me how the employee's enjoy making free calls from MTN to MTN numbers as a perk from their sim cards, then she has the audacity to tell me that the data bundles are really reasonable![Billing system is buggered too]
GRRRR it really spoilt my day!

My 2c of pathetic service:
I ordered an additional Anytime 50 topup line thru MTN Direct. Got the simcard and forms through the courier yesterday and called them to activate.

This morning on MTN Active I see I got subscribed to the wrong package, although the forms couriered from MTN Direct indicates the right package.
After an hour of holding, speaking to a consultant, being transferred from this to that department, getting cut off twice, calling again, holding, being told it’s MTN Direct’s problem who in turn says it’s 808’s problem, I gave up. I cancelled the contract (luckily the wrong package was Pro Data so I only lose the subscription and CLI they charged me of R18).

I am seriously in a bad mood today, so DON’T MESS WITH ME!!! :mad:

This is really getting laughable, get this - I started the process all over again, ordered a Anytime 50 topup through MTN Direct. Lo and behold, THEY SUBSCRIBED ME TO THE WRONG PACKAGE AGAIN! I very specifically asked for it to be TOPUP but they made it non-topup...
:eek: :sick: :D :mad:

EDIT: This time got it sorted because I had the reference number, time of call, person spoke to and the date I ordered the contract.
