Server 2003 help!!

Guys im getting nowhere with this thing. Thanks for all the help, but i think im just gonna reinstall and start from scratch now.
I must have missed something along the way. Ill apreciate any further assistance while im installing the server os

OK. I reinstalled the OS. Im still having the exact same problem as before, but at least now i have the dns option.
In the dns event viewer i get the following error.
Event ID: 4521
The DNS server encounted a error 32 attempting to load zone <domain name> from active directory, etc. etc.
The clients dns ips point to the servers ip. What can i do now?
Im leaving now , but will check back later from home.

Can't believe you just upped and left it as is nor can I believe you reloaded again...

What’s to point in asking for help if you are just going to do as you please, you where given workarounds and possible fixes and yet you ignored it. If you don’t know what these guys are talking about Google!

And yes I fully agree with the WINS work around (temporary) until you can fix your DNS issues

He should create a DNS zone on a Linux server with BIND9, then he'll understand how a DNS zone works.

lol ouch man, relax.

anyhow hope you come right man. DNS is easy to sort out The_Librarians previous link should really help.

I didnt just do as i please. I could find what you guys were talking about because it wasnt there. Somehow it was never installed and didnt want to instal either.
So the only option was to reinstall everything.

I think he might have at least two server NICs, one to shield the internal network from the outside & the other one connected to the router/firewall. That needs to be properly configured.

<removed, 3 pages on thread and i replied to irrelevant stuff after reading page 1>

There is also somewhere that you have to integrate your DNS into Active Directory. Did you do that? Maybe the other guys can tell you where it is.

The server has 2 nics, but only one is enabled. The nic has a dns specified.

I did everything thats in the link of The_Librarians.
This is what i have done so far:
Installed server 2003 (obviously)
Installed drivers
ran dcpromo and configured
restarted
checked the link and tried everything (The_Librarians)

What am i missing?

This might be a long shot (and a very long one at that). But try the other NIC.

Did you setup RRAS on this server; it could be that RRAS Firewall is blocking your ping request on Internal Network?

But if not it’s not it!

so i googled just about every error i got on the clients and the server.
if i use nslookup on the server then i get:
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds
*** cant find server name for address 192.168.0.100: timed out
default server: unknown
address: 192.168.0.100

and the DNS service is started?

if you have two interfaces, is the interface facing the LAN running a firewall? if so disable it for testing, confirm the NIC is working, no driver issues, etc. attempt to browse the server by IP.

If the DNS Service is starter, can you dump a screenshot of the DNS config, lets have a look and see if somethings missing.
