SET added to DSTv Compact

The bigger they come the harder they fall :D

Wonder if they will expect customer loyalty when some new upstart provider starts to steal their customers away with better and more competitive packages.

I guess that's the BEST thing that you can do!

I was one of the first bunch of people to own a PVR, I was flabbergasted to see that you have to pay extra to be able to use play, stop, record, fwd, rwd buttons. Okay! This was fine!

Then you hit hard times and the set is switched off, meanwhile you have recorded a whole lot of stuff. And then you try watching it. But oh no, you cant, because you have been switched off, and even then you would not be able to use the PVR functionalities as they call them.

So I paid R2999.00 for something that someone else controls. A better deal would have been if they gave me the decoder for free, and then if I do not pay they switch off.

Worst case scenario, lets say the new Pay TV players come to the party! And you decide to switch off DSTV yourself ... Then you are left witch a PVR Decoder that you cannot use for anything else ... And you paid a lot for it.

Useless! I do encourage you to throw it out from your second floor balcony!

P.S. I have since sold mine at a loss ... And bought myself one of those DSD1110 thingies...

After all who needs three tuners when things get repeated anyway!

With R2,999.00 I could have bought myself a decent DVD Recorder with HDD, and all the previously mentioned PVR Functionalities. And then autotune the decoder to change to the required channels and record stuff overnight! And during the day when everyone else is at work
SET...letterman is the only thing worthwhile on it...but fck multichoice end of this month I'm throwing my pvr from the second floor onto the dstv magazine delivery guy (never saw him before, mag tends to just magically appear in the mailbox.)...cause just not worth it anymore
