Setting off Fireworks on New Years

So this year we let off a bunch of fireworks on New Years night. We made sure to do it within 100 meters of a SPCA in case any dogs got a fright and needed to be rushed to an ER for fright fixing.

Just kidding Mila :D, we actually went camping at a major dam were there was not a single dog around for kilometers and where we had permission to set off fireworks.

Some of them did not go off as planned. My friends who lit the fireworks at one stage had to run like mad. Heres the video.

You do know animals other than dogs are afraid of fireworks :erm:

Im afraid the frogs had to suffer this one out Alan. I can tell you where they are if you feel the need to hug them to make them better.

We were camping at the area where all the powerboats are. There must have been around 20 powerboats on the water. We were not anywhere near a sensitive area. The dam is 17km long.
 
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't it against the law to set off fireworks? how can you get permission to break a law?

Dunno, they were on sale at a popular toy store so I cant imagine theyre illegal.
 
people who still set off fireworks especially in residential areas are tossers. At midnight on new years I had to let my two rottweilers into the house until the tossers ran out of fireworks

:D Thanky Wizard!! This year was better for us we moved to a quiet place close to a wildlife park and they enforce the law for me :D :D
I do not mind fireworks when done like this I have however decided the dog is a ... well dog and I like cats more :D

Cats do not like it, and wild animals it they have been hunted do not like what sounds like shots fired ;)
Any unexplained loud noise would make them run.

poor Libs had it so bad the children were more scared than the dogs.

In my opinion people should only be allowed to sell fireworks on new years, one big bang won't be that harmfull to the dogs. What irritates me are these little kiddies who shoot it until the 5th.

I tend to disagree with you on this one.

Fireworks beyond a certain type are illegal in residential areas, and this is a good thing. They should never be allowed to be used at any point during the year. If someone wants to enjoy fireworks they should go to a professional display.
 
We had retards setting off fireworks on the beach with people walking all over the show. Quite a few shot off along the ground instead of up. How someone did not get seriously injured is beyond comprehension. If you're going to play with fire, at least know how to control it ffs.
