Setting Up A Fax Modem

Hi I have a normal only 1 telkom prepaid line with password which i only use for calls(no dial-up internet).

I bought me a fax modem to enable me to send faxes, I installed the fax modem it seems to work fine. I installed winfax/fax talk etc. I tried sending faxes but i just can't figure it. It says no dial tone etc. I'm not about area code dial rules. I stay in cape town South Africa..

Is there anybody out there that can help me with a step by step guide on what to do.

Go to "Modems" in Control Panel. Select the properties for your modem. Make sure the setting "wait for dial tone before dialing" is not selected.

Thats more than likely your issue. Is the fax machine sending the password enabling it to make the call?

Ok I am having similar problem configuring my modem...
I have everything hooked up correctly/installed and I hear no dial tone..
Did you find your solution it might help me?
