Hey guys,
I am hoping for some pointers here.
I am currently using a wired router at home and have now acquired a Billion 7300G wireless router and am eager to go wireless with my laptop.
What I need is some information on how to go about it and what to be careful off as regards security etc.
My understanding is that I will set it up as per my wired router in terms of connecting it to my adsl line. What I need to know now is how to get the laptop to see this router? And also I have heard talk of mac addresses (?) etc which you use to make your system secure? Where is this done, on the router? And what else needs to be done to prevent others from seeing, and using my cap?
I know I could google this but it is also nice to get some first hand knowledge from locals who know what they are talking about, and understand our systems.
Thanks in advance. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions as we go along. The problem is I need to make sure I pretty much get it before setting up my system in case I am not able to get online after! ha ha
