Im trying to setup my router but its asking me for some information...
I think it has to do with iBurst settings
VPI / VCI - then there are values required for each. Default 0 / 38
Encapsulation - options are LLC or VC/MUX
MTU - default 1432
Are there other settings that i need to enable?
The router doesnt seem to connect to iburst on its own. I have created a "manual" iburst connection that works.

I can tell you to set the MTU to 1352 but that's about it. Don't know what the other settings are...

The router's WAN port needs to be set to PPPoE, it seems you have a router that thinks the WAN port is configured to direct cable connection

Router shouldnt be asking VPI/VCI and Muxing info, this is strictly the modem's job. Are you using a WAN router or a Modem/Router?

Sounds to me like you trying to use a dsl router on iburst :D

Hi Myles

Please provide me with a name of the router (make) and model number.

Will be the quickest way to identify your woes.

Cheers

Connect your desktop modem to the WAN interface with the supplied ethernet cable.

Log into the router via I.E. or browser of your choice.

In the address bar input 192.168.2.1 and press enter.

On the login screen click on submit. There should be no password.

Please select connection type under Internet Wan. Select PPPoE.
Now provide your iburst username and password. Set the MTU size to 1392 and apply changes.

This should get you up and going.

Cheers

well depends if he's got a iburst modem firstly... otherwise stick to ADSL....

@iburst : there is no wan interface that i can find.
On a side note... once i set the router as an access point i cant seem to "login" to the router any longer. They say the address has changed to 192.168.2.254 but that doesnt work either.

Further assistance

If you can no longer access the router interface, find the reset button (normally in the back of the router) and press it in holding for 10 seconds. Router must be on when this is done. This will reset all settings back to manufacturer default settings.

Use the yellow port labeled 'To Modem'. This is where you would connect your ADSL or iBurst.

Repeat the PPPoE setup.

Cheers

Myles - u cant use a adsl modem/router to function as a router for iburst in the traditional sense. Best u could do is put the modem on a LAN port and do a single PPPoE connection from a pc on the network

Wan setup page

Please follow the steps provided previously.

Attached is a screen shot for assistance.

@iburst: "Use the yellow port labeled 'To Modem'. This is where you would connect your ADSL or iBurst."
The size of the connector is different. Its slightly smaller than your standard iburst lan connection.

N1 router

Is your N1 the black shiny one with 3 antennas?

Attached is a pic.

Maybe you can PM me your detail and I will call you on Monday morning.

@iburst: Yes its the black shiny 1 with 3 antennas BUT mine doesnt have the blue "push button" and where your pic says "to modem" mine says "adsl"

Make sure you purchase a "broadband router " and plug an ethernet cable from WAN port on broadband router to iburst modem. You will noticed that broadband routers dont have LLC , , VCI etc settings as these are adsl routers.
