Hey guys,
A friend needs a setup to view his work on 3-4 42" LCD / Plasma screens.

I am not clued up on what hardware he would need.
Would there be 1 x card that can do this via DVI, cannot be HDMI.
Would he need to go SLI / Crossfire?

Can you advise?

Thanks

one AMD 7950 will do the trick (up to 5 in series...).

You can get converters for all the ports (you'll have 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and 2 mini ports on the card IIRC)

Can you split the screens say for example I want each screen to show a different image but from one machine?
I do ot see how you can connect multiple screens
I see you can get HDMI to DVI converters ahhhh

But can I run 4 separate things from one machine on this card?

Extended desktop. Create a large image with the four on it and make it your desktop background.

Dont think I am explaioning myself.
I want for example 4 different windows with 4 x different things in each one.
Does this give you that option or is it just 1 x window split into 4 monitors?

Thanks guys sorry If I sound like an idiot :D
Also I see you need specific monitors for this is that correct
Another thing is - can you get the converters easily? From HDMI to DVI?

Looks like you can even use an AMD HD 7750 or HD7770 for this (cheaper alternatives...)

Basically, look at this for a nice description, or the official page: http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-eyefinity-technology/Pages/eyefinity.aspx

you get converters http://www.pricecheck.co.za/offers/3069238/HDMI+to+DVI-D+Adapter/

The way it works is you have the OS system running, and each screen can have it's own thing happening on it... So you can have movies running on each screen at the same time for eg... Or, you could link the screens to act as one massive screen. Either way, you get the connectors to do it.

Oh, Eye-Infinity 2.0 allows any monitors to be connected now, not the same type... So that's why I'm suggesting the new GPU's from AMD

Just drag them from the main screen to another.

In Display Settings you'll arrange the layout to reflect your physical setup making the dragging off screen intuitive.

Out of interest what the hell kind of work does your friend do to need such a large display area? :D

Btw they should go with Samsung LA40D550 LCD / UA40D5000 LED-LCD, work great as PC monitors when set to PC Mode.
