Hiya, my line has been installed, but now what do I do lol.

I can see my router via WiFi, but obviously wants a password to connect. Where do I find this. Is this what Telkom sends to you?

But apart from that, ,do I have to register the router 1st via a PC or something?

Thanks guys

Hey dude, congrats!

Is Telkom your ISP?

Okay so they probably sms'd you your login details, it would have been around the time you signed up for the service.

Open your browser and type 10.0.0.2 into the address bar. Try type in your login details.. let me know if they work

Can I only do that on a PC with it connected to the router?

Yup, just connect your pc through the ethernet cable they provided you

Although, like Ponder said, there might be a password underneath your router, and you can try connect to it wirelessly

Yep looks like it. At the bottom it shows something key, so I'm assuming it's that?

No. You should have a default wifi password (check documentation or under router) which authenticates you to the router. Once connected, then go into the router admin (10.0.0.2 or 192.168.1.1 - again, check documention) via your web browser. From there you can see your line stats, put in your Telkom ADSL details etc.

I see something underneath which shows something key, so will try that and feedback.

To change wifi password
-use one of these 10.0.0.2 or 192.168.1.1 to gain access to the router
-username:admin and password:admin
-use the setup button once your in the router under wireless (depends on the router, but something along those lines).
-Enter old password into the router.
-change the password to something you can remember (it helps a lot)

I've just entered that and it shows authenticating and connected

Connected via wifi to your router... step 1 success!!
Ok, next step, go into router admin. From browser it's most likely, 10.0.0.2 or 192.168.1.1 - if not, check documentation?

Do I now i have to plug the cable into the laptop, or can this be done over wifi via a tablet browser?

No need - you're connected now so you can set it up via wifi. Just need to get into the console/admin side.
