SGS2 Messaging not showing contacts

My wife got a SGS2 yesterday, and for some reason she can't see who is sending her messages.
The number is displayed in the international format (+27) but the contact details aren't.
When she replies to a message, the contact details are then displayed.

Any idea how to overcome this?

My SGS2 displays the contact details of a message if the sender is in my contact lists.

Could this be a network related issue?

I am on CellC, while she is on Vodacom.

Reading through 164 pages of the user manual hasn't helped, neither has goodling it.

I'm on MTN. Listed contacts display the name and I never did anything to "activate" that.

As the numbers are coming through in the in International for i.e +27 ........ all the contacts in her address list have to be amended to this international format in order to display the person associated in the address book. Hope it helps..

The only time this has happened (on any phone) to me is when there are two different contacts with the same number and the phone obviously doesn't know which one to assigned it to.

I'm on Vodacom and don't have such issues. As said earlier, convert all to +27 format.

On her SGS+ the messages come through showing the contacts.
Strange, we will investigate further.
