Opposition political parties will be outraged if President Jacob Zuma grants a full pardon to his friend, fraudster Schabir Shaik.

But, as speculation mounts that this is exactly what the president will do, opposition leaders have conceded that there is nothing they can do to stop it.

Zuma not only has the power to pardon, he also has the power to return the R39.2 million that the state confiscated from Shaik - and expunge his criminal record - even though Shaik is his friend and was sent to jail for fraud and corruption relating to Zuma.

The speculation - denied by the Presidency - is that Zuma could make the decision before Christmas.

More lameness after the link :-/

all-gold

and his pardon at that time of the year will overshadow santa giving away presents.

I dunno if it is just me but that was always going to happen.

Not shocking at all, expected.

Accept and move on i reckon.

The type of message this will send to the masses... But this is exactly what one would expect from someone like Zuma.

Too many incidences of 'accept and move on' these days ....... complacency is a dangerous attribute.

Screw this....

If this creature gets a presidential pardon, I will become a very vocal advocate of everyone in Durban not supporting businesses that deal with the Shaik family in anyway.

Quite surprised it hasn't happened already - the ANC scumbags aren't shy to show the middle finger.

I expect for the 2010 WC they'll be marketing the portable AIDS preventative shower, personally endorsed by the president.

And the ANC got upset about Zapiro's cartoon with Zuma and Lady Justice? I just didn't quite realise that Zapiro could in fact see the future.

University of Cape Town constitutional expert Professor Pierre de Vos said: "Only when the president acts in bad faith, if he received a bribe that could be linked to this pardon, could a court intervene.
AIDS shower boy Zooma has already spent the bribe money.

If he were to get the R32.9m he forfeited, he would get a monthly income of R250 000 if he put the money in the bank at an eight percent interest rate.
de Vos is not keeping up with the news, scumbag Shabby Sheik has been receiving interest earned on this forfeited amount.

I see what you are saying but certain things you just need to move on from.

It is not like it will change. It will happen and we can sit and bitch and moan til we are blue in the face but it will happen and as frankie says i am surprised it has not happened sooner

In a way I agree with you...

BUT I think in this case, the people of city can do something and hurt the people who "support" shaik. He lives in Durban and the Durban citizens and business owners need to reject him.

I will not frequent or shop anywhere that Shaik has seen to be doing business and I will urge everyone to do the same... It will eventually either end up in the shops closing because all they can do is do business with Shaik, or Shaik will be unable to do any business in this city at all. (this is of course assuming most people are as outraged at this as I am)...

Yeah , that made me sick when I heard that

Smells a shops visited by Shaik thread. :D

How about a present for the rest of us? Shabby drops down dead on a golf course!

Where is he a member? Time, methinks, to enquire of that establishment whether a criminal record is a requisite for membership.
