If been reading up on Shamans as From tomorrow I can play wow again :)
and want to lvl my Shaman.

The problem is, everywhere everyone is complaining as to how crap Shamans are. 90% of them are complaining about PvP. And the rest say they love being healers.

I want to be Enchancement.

Now in our Guild we have an Enchancement Shaman which is just IMBA. He loves he's class and plays it damn good.

Is Shamans really that crap ?

Yes.
Part from Resto shamans with up to 400 Resilience, the amount of 1700+ rated shamans are almost non existant.
Enhancement shaman being the weakest of the PVP specs.
Can forget about 2v2 or 3v3 arena games, and in 5v5 you will be the first target 90% of the time. You would have some decent Burst damage, not as high as Elemental shaman, but it is ok against low rated teams.
Sorry for not giving you that much hope, just stating what I have experienced.

Forgot tp mention that it's for PvE only.

If I want to PvP I just do it on my Rogue, no other clis as IMBA as a ROgue in PvP :)

So with that in mind, aka PvE only.... I love the play style of my little shaman.
And I want to lvl it to 70 :(

Ah PVE, is an entirely different matter :D
Enhancment shaman is quite decent DPS in PVE, though you may end up wearing more leather than mail items. You will however not top the DPS charts in well geared groups/ or rather similar geared groups, but the synergy your skills and totems have with other classes like warriors and rogues are amazing dps boosters for the group.
IMHO shaman should be good team players, and if you feel that is what you want, you cannot go wrong with a shaman.

My shaman is at 65 at the moment and also still pure Enhancement for leveling. I however intend to go Resto at 70 for raid healing, I have plenty of other good dps chars.

Enhance shammys pre-tbc could 1shot (with a wf proc ;)) any class in AV...

Sadly those days are gone

See that is my point exactly. I can top DPS charts easy on my Rogue. What I want to do this time is be off healer in the "oo shyt" situations, and want to buff my mates to their full potential. I know what a difference a nice totem makes in a raid group :D

And Leveling the Shaman is so much fun, the best fun I have had on any char thus far :o

Yep, will PM you this morning ;)

Our enhance shammy in PVE makes a huge diff. Compared to the mage and lock we normally run with his dmg output if horrid, but then so is my hunter :P, but the totems make a helluva difference to any fight, and boost my healing, and in a really bad situation, he can offheal to boot :)

Resto shamans are awesome. I'm fully ele specced at the moment 51/5/0 and can do decent DPS. Only my armour is epic at the moment, still need to get some decent trinkets etc, and get some decent enchants.

The Shaman in our guild is a crit machine, none of our tanks want him to DPS if they are tanking :D

But like I said, I love the play style. It opened a whole new way I see WoW.
I have lvl'd a Warrior to 62 and a Rogue to 70. I love Melee and tried my hand at casters, I just can't get a liking in playing a caster. Now a Shaman alows me to play, Off healer, Caster and Melee. I love it !!!!

I love my shaman more than my rogue :)

Shaman = rogue in mail as enhance, or a mage in mail + a shield as elemental

I have never played a class other than shaman (only started to play 2 weeks after TBC launched). I have tried and seen every shaman spec both in PVE and PVP, and I have to say people who moan so much about shamans dont bother to learn the class's ups and downs. The are a few pitfalls though, enhancement in PVP is just to farm arena points with :-) You will get targeted first and die 1st, unless the other team is totally useless.

From my very first 25man at Gruul I was specced enhancement and loved it. In our SSC or VR raids back at that stage I did manage to be always in Top3 dps, and we had some good players in our raid. Enhancement dps does however rely on the group makeup to be almost perfect.

I raid as resto now with 2.1k bonus healing and ~300 mp5 notcasting. We are doing BT and MH now and there virtually no encounter where resto shamans dont shine. I was never into healing but I tried it to help out the guild and now I am almost top healer in every raid ( <3 chain heal's OPness ).

The thing that people seem to misunderstand about shamans quite often and hence the reason for all the moaning and groaning, is that shamans are a SUPPORT class, few people seems to get this. You are not always meant to shine at the top, but to keep the foundations steady for the other guys. If you get that then you will get far with your shaman.
