Shaped/Unshaped question

Eish, such a noob question this but anyway ........ I want to get an extra ADSL acc. and I want to know, if I get a shaped one, will I still be able to download as normal from P2P (eg: will I still be getting 25-35kbps speeds on shaped)? Is unshaped purely for gaming or does it affect d/load speeds too? Any info much appreciated as always

In theory it also affects P2P and I'm sure it does but I still get decent speeds on shaped, its not worth the extra money IMO.

Got a 4 meg line and with SAIX shaped I've got speeds of up to 150KB/s on a single torrent before, obviously it depends on seeds and everything else, usually don't get that much.

hmmm ...... I only use Soulseek, so, as long as my speed there isn't jolted, I suppose shaped is the obvious choice considering cost.

Never used Soulseek or bothered with an uncapped account for P2P, the shaped speeds are generally fine, on SAIX anyway, torrents on IS seem to be very slow.

Imaginet unshaped 5gig ......... bit pricy though, so I want to reduce that one to 1 or 2gigs and then get a shaped one for d/loading.
