Hi all,

Need advice on the ffg situation:

My pc is next to my tv and connects to the internet via wifi. Now I want to connect the tv to the internet and to the home network. Can I share the Ethernet port on my pc? What else will I need to do?

Thanks

If your PC is running Windows:

1. Right click on the wifi connection -> properties and look for ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) - I think the actual words in Win7 is "Share this connection blablabla".
2. Connect your LAN cable between the PC and TV.
3. ???
4. Profit! :)

edit: do you want the TV to be able to consume media on the LAN as well? The above setup won't allow that...

Thanks for your reply. I just want it to join the network so I can stream media from my phone as well as have Internet access so I can watch YouTube etc on my tv.

Then get a long ethernet cable and connect the TV directly to the router. Its a bit more work, but then you'd be able to connect to the internet as well as to your LAN

Hi There,
I would always go for the cable connection if possible and that includes the PC. The reliability is much better as is the speed.
