Why dont you just create a Wifi hotspot on you laptop and connect directly from the PS3. If you are on Windows 7 your can use Connectify. Works like a charm.

If you can configure your wireless router to give the address of your laptop as the default gateway to the PS3, or even hard code the IP address and gateway, then you just need to configure your laptop to route traffic from the wireless network to the 3G card.

Hi Hume

I'm not sure OS is running on the laptop but I used this method successfully in the not too distant past on XP machines.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply, I checked out your link and was confused as the post reered to other computes connecting via lan cable.

In my case I wuld like to cnnect the PS3 via the wireless router. the wireless router will be the access point for the PS3 to get th internet connection frm.

Hop all this makes sense..

No ad hoc connections needed. Connectify creates a wifi access point, which you can connect to with your PS3, Phone or any wifi device. Have a look at http://www.connectify.me/ Takes seconds to set up and its FREE!

Thanks for the help Grumpy old man, I would just like to know if you got this working on your PS3 as Im reading all over the net that everyone is struggling with the PS3 to connect...
