Sharks Supporters Thread

Ok it now looks like we will only be available for the boks in the June and November test series.

I got the sense that he would only be available for the Boks in 2015. Sure is a huge loss. And there isn't a lot of good comments being made about the negative impact Japanese rugby has on players. I really hope JP doesn't fall prey to that.

The only player that has come back just as strong is George Smith. Dude is having a beast of a run this season so far.

Paul Jordaan out for rest of season, knee injury in practice yesterday. What the fsck is going on at the Sharks, that's 17 injuries now

Also, still no Kanko in the squad, Plumtree's little feuds continue to fsck us.

Injuries of this magnitude can only be attributed to poor coaching and planning. The Sharks gameplan is about as deep and meaningful as a paddling pool right now.

I don't really reckon, to me it just seems very unfortunate.

If you look at our injury toll Bismark, Alberts, Whitehead and Keegan were all out before Super Rugby started. Keegan has managed to come back fortunately.

Botes broke his arm - not sure how one conditions or prevents that.
Ludik stuffed up his shoulder - again thats not something to my knowledge you can prevent or condition.
Mvovo sprained wrist I think it is - again its one of those things

and the list goes on.

I would lay the blame if the majority of the injuries were muscle strains or the like but if they involve bone or ligaments I don't quite see how they can be prevented. The Sharks have also generally had a very good conditioning from what I have observed and I find it difficult to believe that it would all of a sudden change.

Where is the King Spark?

We can only guess what is going on in the Sharks camp of late, but it isn’t a surprise that there is a general feeling that something is untoward.

Fewer tries than ever before, and with a squad that is looking increasingly unhappy, this might present an interesting challenge for John Smit as new CEO when he takes over.

The between-the-lines unhappiness was apparent when Ryan Kankowski blurted out his feelings in a newspaper article this week.

"A lot of reasons have been thrown around as to why I was axed," Kankowski said. "I was told Japan was bad for me and that the possibility of me going back also played a role, as well as my form not being as good as it could be.

"But I don't buy that I'm not fit. I've been playing for four full seasons prior to this one, so obviously match fitness isn't a problem.

"I'm just going to have to keep working hard, but I've no idea if I can win Plum's trust back. I went through something similar last year when I told him I was going to Japan but I fought back from that."

Considering the Sharks also benched their captain, and only have 23 fit players on tour, it isn’t a wonder fans have cause to be worried.

The rot is with the coaching monkey trio, we need a fresh outlook and fresh ideas and a fresh mentality ......... Plum and the 2 stooges - piss off

Gees, bit of a slap in the face for Kanko. Still rate him as the best 8th man in SA currently and for the last couple of seasons.

The more contact you invite the higher the probability of picking up an injury. That's been the Sharks approach for ages - crash, boom, bang.

That Business Day article really made me mad. Someone like Kanko shouldn't be treated that shoddily

I don't even want to try understand why Minnie and Deysel would get dropped after pretty decent performances. And to bring in penalty machine and one of the more lackluster locks out there in their stead just blows my mind.

Who's the penalty machine? That team doesn't look too bad to me. Agreed that Minnie had a decent game last week. Hopefully he can make an impact of the bench. Pity about Reinach, though. :(

Penalty machine - Keegan. He's off form at the moment and because of it he's playing stupid.
