Sharks Supporters Thread

Words escape me on some of the calls this plonker is making. How does this shyte keep being allowed year in and year bloody out

Thats the game i'm afraid. If we atleast had a different un*****ed up referee it would've helped.

Congrats to the Crusaders, they deserved to win. Also in a way congrats to Bryce who hopefully has proven to the IRB that neutral refs are a non-negotiable at this level.

I would say congrats to the Saders, but unfortunately it wasn't fair game with that kind of reffing. They were better though, and we were too tired for this match. It showed heavily. However I do hope the Stormers smash them and the little soft pony faker SBW.

Well done, my boys, better luck next season!!

Also well played to 'Saders - they know how to play big games.

Now it's..... GO STORMERS!!!!

Ive already vented my frustration else where. Disgusting, what is this soccer?

I'll be behind the Stormers now. Thanks for the season Sharks! Currie Cup time soon.

I hereby award my man of the match nomination to Bryce Lawrence. It's tough to win a game when you're playing against 16 and on their home ground. By far some of the most pathetic refereeing I have ever seen (it surpases Freek Burger's shocker in the Currie Cup final - Lions vs Sharks more than a decade ago which up until now was the worst I had witnessed.)

I often defend refs to an extent by stating that sometimes their "offish" days can be misinterpreted as bias, however there is very little room for interpretation in this case - he was well and truly biased against The Sharks from the get-go.

No denying The Crusaders played a better game overall on the night, however the refereeing decisions contributed towards that being the perception...

Worse than Steve Walsh's performance in the 2007 Super 14 final?

I'm gonna start a Facebook petition for support to remove Bryce Lawrence's eyeballs. In my opinion, if you're not going to use them, then you shouldn't be afforded the luxury of having them. Although Sanzar would probably still employ him as a ref - heck he couldn't get any worse...

Worse than Steve Walsh's performance in the 2007 Super 14 final?

Steve Walsh missed a few important calls - that can be attributed to him being a pisscat (remember he wasn't allowed to ref the opening rounds that year due to him being a bit of a drunkard.) Bryce Lawrence on the other hand was blatantly favouring one side with 90% of the calls made on the day - even Stefan Terblanche had a frustrated word with him at one point. The majority of his penalty calls were not just wrong, but smacked of blatant bias.

I keep repeating this, but when a ref plays more of a role in a game than the 30 men on the pitch, then there's something very wrong. Yet Sanzar keep defending them and affording them even more control over elementary situations. Pivotal tries in the game came from shocking calls from Bryce Lawrence, and what appeared to be "turning a blind eye" as well. Such as the early pushing in the scrum by The Crusaders every time they were in our 22.

My worst player of the match is a tie between Bryce Lawrence and Charl McCloud...

I see that the post-game review on Supersport Active is equally harsh on Bryce Lawrence's (so called) performance.

What they didn't address though were the countless times that The Crusaders were offsides at the ruck. Their early pushing at the scrums after they realised The Sharks had their number - this resulted in one absurd penalty to the Crusaders for Jannie apparently placing a hand on the ground - what was he supposed to do? Calling a Sharks player for entering from the side of the ruck after The Sharks had already rucked well over the ball. His penalty advantages to The Sharks that didn't even last over the game line. The Crusaders going off their feet at the breakdown to secure the ball after The Sharks nailed them at the rucks on countless occasions. The absurd calling of the scrums in general - I mean at one point you hear him stating that The Crusaders player had a hand on the ground, yet awarded the reset scrum to them - WTF? And one absurdity that went against both teams was that he didn't call advantage for penalty infringements.

Effectively all Bryce Lawrence was able to correctly call on the day were knock ons...
