Sharks Supporters Thread

Well a new season is about to start and we will be defending the title. Some new additions to the first team in place of the players on Springbok duty and I'm sure some guys are relishing the opportunity to show the coaches that they should be picked more often (Burden).

Stefan at 15 and Ludik at 14... would it not have made sense to switch these players positions with each other? I'm looking forward to seeing Richards play - a lot has been said about this guy. And lets not forget Sithole! Man I hope he gets some game time!

Kickoff is 17:05 at Kings Park.

The Team:

15. Stefan Terblanche
14. Louis Ludik
13. Marius Joubert
12. Meyer Bosman
11. Mark Richards
10. Frederic Michalak
9. Ross Cronje
8. Keegan Daniel (Capt)
7. Marcell Coetzee
6. Jacques Botes
5. Ross Skeate
4. Anton Bresler
3. Wiehahn Herbst
2. Craig Burden
1. Eugene van Staden

Replacements

16. Kyle Cooper
17. Dale Chadwick
18. Jan Andre Marais
19. Francois Kleinhans
20. Jacobus Reinach
21. Jacques-Louis Potgieter
22. Sibusiso Sithole

*yawn*

Taking on the boneheads from up north again is real entertainment...

SANZAR really screwed us this year. I already turned down tickets to this game.

Great snakes! A nice win by the Sharks.

If I can poke my cynical finger into the pumpkin for a second... I hate it when the Sharks start well. They grow over confident and on too many occasions fail to win the games they should win at the business end.

But, finger out, it's always good to beat those trophy thieves from up in Sin City... :)

Although I missed the game today, as a true Sharks supporter I can confirm that I have no complaints against the ref this time around...:D

We played well. At times we got too carried away and just swung the ball for the heck of it. I must say I really enjoyed the pops in the tackle to a supporting player...keeps the momentum going and the opposition on the back foot. Nice cheeky cross field kick by Michalak :D Reminds me of Van Straatens try years ago.

Man Kings Park was empty :( At R55 a ticket I would've expected more people.. the weather wasn't bad either. I've never seen the pubs that empty before & during a game.

It's the third time we have played the Bulls this season. Hardly surprising there wasn't much interest. I was offered tickets and declined. The beer is expensive. The food is too. Finding parking is a PITA. And then there's a good chance you will be pulled over by some criminal in a cops uniform on the way home and asked to blow into a device.

If you want to take a family of 4 to a game it's going to run you well over R500 once you've bought tickets, paid for parking, a drink and a hot dog. And what do you get for your money that you can't get at home or in a local watering hole for a lot less?

The NRU needs a complete shake up in the marketing department. They've been doing the same **** for nearly 20 years and it's boring. Flashers girls? Yaah, that was entertaining for a couple of seasons back in the 90's. Sharky? Mmmm.... Maybe for the kids, but since 80% of the people who attend the games are above the age of 15 perhaps they should dream up some other form of entertainment.

They really need to have a full marketing transfusion. Get people with brains in there to run the show, not the chops who have been doing it since they were still Banana Boys...

Congrats to the Sharks.

They deserved the winning margin :D

Think the big difference was the experience and the flyhalves imo. Hope us Bulls can put up a better game next time around.

Yip a different ball game when the BOK squad is not in their teams - but the Sharks woulda beaten them anyhow. Coming from Pretoria I love it when the Bulls get whipped.
