Sharks Supporters Thread

Nice to see Frans Steyn start to hit a bit of form today. I've been bitching about Steyn quite a bit lately (deservedly so), but if he is definitely in Peter De Villiers plans, then I hope he comes good. Perhaps it was the home fans' booing in the first half that spurred him on.

Finally good to see that the Sharks supporters are willing to reveal their true feelings. Although I did feel for the guy when the crowd turned their back on him with that poor first half. It's one thing swearing at your TV, it's totally different when the home crowd boos a player for the world to see. I wouldn't say his second half was brilliant, but a big improvement.

I was at the game - it was ironic that most of the crowd booed him when he missed the first drop goal, but was the hero in the second half when he kicked one over.

The sharks played poorly, but luckily so did the canes. The sharks capitalized on some errors and other than a couple of lucky tries they never looked like stringing together a back line move that could penetrate the defense.

Top of the log is well deserved but they will have to play better if they want to win.

Go Sharks

There was a period (in the first half, IIRC) where the 'canes outmuscled the Sharks in the scrums and rucks. The period when Steyn decided to run the ball from his 5 metre line. The 'canes pack was 80 kgs heavier. Need Jean Deysel back.

Yeah that booing was distasteful

Do you think The Sharks enjoy giving their supporters a nearheart attack?

That's the risk of playing counter attack rugby. We let them back in the game

Not the first time this season it's happened. Daniel, Botes and Kankowski are too similar IMO.

I think it's about time people got off this Steyn-Bash train .... I was disgusted to hear a Sharks player being booed by the home support  That crap does not belong in Durban and neither does the constant stupid remarks about Steyn's hair for that matter ... FFS.

Onto the game, I think we played well enough and considering that we have what, 4 first choice players out due to injury, we did ok. Also take into consideration that we have yet to have a bye and have only just come home and it's even more of a feat that we are top of the log.

Awful, atrocious and abominable performance by The (supposed) Sharks today. Pathetic ref, but we'd have still lost it with even a decent ref on the pitch. Cheetahs played really well and The (supposed) Sharks just folded under the pressure. We practically handed them their tries on a silver (or was it orange?) platter. Steyn was terrible again (I'm sick and tired of him now) and might as well have scored the Cheetahs' second try for them. Jordaan hopefully just lost his place in the team for some time - throwing his opposite number over the try line - wtf!? And not a single decent attacking opportunity.

ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC! Cheetahs deserved that win...

I hope they all get a bloody klap around the back of the head for that performance today.. it was ATROCIOUS and is not the kind of rugby a team of the Sharks calibre should be playing...

It was more school boys playing against a professional team.
