I think he means to say that EVEN if you look closely ..... it was nowhere near a fscking 50/50 call, the ball went backwards, fully backwards, with no hint that it went forward.

I think there needs to be a citing system for refs as well...

They need to be hauled over the coals for blatantly crap decisions.

As much as the ref-blaming by sharkies is really entertaining, I do agree with this call. Someone in the industry said it last year and got into a little bit of trouble. Think it was a NZ person. Then it was pointed out here (by Mielie I think I stand corrected) that only four of our refs are pros and the rest volunteers.

Citing for refs. I know one or two that would be in deep trouble. Of course, when the fans in the stadium throw things at the opposition, they also deserve to lose all form of sympathy and that you do not have to watch twice or closely or anything to see. Sharks lost because they were not on form on the day. End of story. You can't claim something was stolen from your pavement if you don't have a fence. Next time, ring fence your lead.

I'm not going to blame the ref for the sharks loss... i think they deserved to lose that match...

BUT i saw so many crap decisions from the ref that cost both teams scoring chances... the refs need to get punished for that kind of thing.

The media is now allowed to request the ref so he can answer questions about calls he made in the game at the post match presentation.

It is not a punishment system but it will be nice to actually hear what some of them have to say on certain calls they made.

All Refs make 3 or 4 mistakes a match, thats a given , but when a ref makes a mistake that swings a match from a win to a loss, that is upsetting.
Anyway its over, Sharks have to step up now, its not going to get any easier.

Can someone please explain what is going on with the Sharks front row, when all three put on the Green & gold jersey, they are world class, yet as soon as they scrum down for the Sharks they are pinned and penalised every 2nd or 3rd scrum?

The forwards were nowhere on the night. That's ultimately why we lost not the ref IMO

Durban – New Zealand referee Keith Brown will not forget his first Super 14 match in a hurry.

He had to virtually run for his life after sounding the final whistle in Saturday night’s match between the Sharks and Chiefs.

Bottles and other missiles rained down on him as he was leaving the field.

Sharks fullback Stefan Terblanche had to shout at spectators to calm down. Brown awarded the Chiefs a penalty after the siren, which allowed them to clinch the game 19-18 with a last-gasp pressure penalty by Stephen Donald.

While the Sharks crowd was baying for Brown’s blood
, Chiefs coach Ian Foster praised him for an excellent performance.

Brown also sent two Sharks – Springboks John Smit and Bismarck du Plessis – to the sin-bin and at one stage awarded five penalties to the Chiefs before the Sharks got their first one.

Sharks coach John Plumtree did not want to blame the referee, but felt some of the decisions were harsh.

The Sharks can expect major problems in the coming weeks if the laws are applied in the manner that Brown did it and they fail to adapt.

Bitch! i hope he got hit

And they say the bulls are "kommin".........

Not even with Puke Twatson did they throw things onto the field.

Well at least they listened to me and fot a bonus point.........but that was for losing withing 7! Ref was *** but no excuses, so were we. Need to step up big time, its never easy but we got a star studded side and they need to prove why people rate them so well.

They should rename the Du Plessis brothers to Boeties Bliksem.

Can't remember them causing to much trouble on Saturday but Bismarck did get a yellow for a late charge.
Same with Kuun from the Bulls. He is always involved in the scuffles.

Looks like the Sharks have signed Andy Goode (flyhalf) from England on a loan agreement, dont know what you guy's think, but i think this is very Goode and will help the Sharks alot.

Goode one!! Also signed young Steenkamp - a lock - from the Bulls to cover for Muller and co's injuries.

What is it with the Sharls and overseas players?

First Michalak, then Hernandez, then Steve Meyer and now Andy Goode.

Do they have no confidence in local players?
