Cape Town – There has been a sharp increase in the number of violent protests across the country, according to the latest crime statistics released on Friday.

“More and more protests are becoming rowdy, whereas those protests that are peaceful are on the decrease,” crime research and statistics head Major General Norman Sekhukhune told Parliament’s portfolio committee on police.

Reported cases of violent unrest increased to 3542 between April 2015 and March this year, compared to 2289 in the previous financial year.

A slide shown to the committee stated: “Despite the notable increase in incidents of unrest, the police continue to maintain restraint.”

Sekhukune said when people burned down schools, the deployment of police to these areas diverted them from their core business.

A map of the country showed that unrest hotspots included KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and Limpopo.

And water is wet and the sky is blue.

Too many people. We need some natural disease to fix them.
There is just that, but the f.......... and whites developed medicines to keep the disease in check. Can't wait for the chinese to take Africa over and get things back to normal.
