Shell reportedly preparing to exit South Africa

After the elections will see that Shell is somewhat dodgy. But because it’s election time, most people are likely to side with anyone who’s not government.
But just based on the article, Shell is employing some underhanded and unethical tactics be it BEE or not.

Companies are not wanting to come here because of BEE … and companies want to leave because of BEE …

Vivo Energy is a Shell and Engen Petroleum licensee and sources, distributes, markets and supplies fuels and lubricants. Big Picture view - Vivo bought out Engen last year in SA and Namibia - nice time to pull out make hella cash , get out of BEE deals - rebrand all stations to Engen - make more cash - Look at Engen BEE deals - why compete against yourself. #ConspiracyTheory101

You got a choice, bend over and get shafted, or take you money and fekk off, and leave ANC to fill the hole, you leave behind.
If you want loadsmoney, you'll comply with BEE to make it. All about money.

Shell wants to leave South Africa

International oil giant Shell is preparing to pull out of South Africa after operating in the country for over 120 years, City Press and Sunday Times report.

The news reportedly follows a dispute between the oil giant and its long-term BEE partner, Thebe Investment Corporation, over an R3.7-billion stake in Shell Downstream South Africa (SDSA).
Is Thebe holdings, not the main financial donor to the ANC?

Where are they going to go to, back to Europe where everyone is moving to EV?

It would be dumb for any fuel company to pull out of 3rd world countries. It's those countries that are going to be last to move to EV...
The profit is not worth the hassle of dealing with our government and its policies, especially BEE and AA.

They've been up the ANC's arse from the start to buy political favour. BEE meant nothing to them while they were milking it. Only now they're playing the victim, why didn't they speak up sooner if it was such an issue...

Same okes moaning that there's no money coming into South Africa are the same okes clapping that a company is leaving. I'm starting to think it's the people who are dumb as rocks.

It will be nice seeing Shell leaving and please remember to take your fracking equipment with you too!

When Shell leaves and the ANC government sell those fracking rights to a Chinese company you might find it a bit harder to protest against them…
