Anybody recently shipped their house hold stuff to the UK.

I'm trying to get a rough idea what it would cost, full container or half etc. JHB --> UK
It's not really worth it to me to try and sell all my stuff and buy it again there, I think I would get R50k back and then spend another R300k there buying everything back. I have a lot of tools, machines & endless books lol.
I stay in a complex, any chance a removal company can just arrive and pick up your boxes, furniture that you've pack and sealed, or do they have to dump a container in your driveway... don't think it will fit in my driveway.. one of my dilemmas.

Most places load it on a removal truck and then pack a container at their premises.

Be careful with packing everything. I kitted out our place for around 3k. You'll end up chucking alot because it doesn't fit through the doors/passages and you can't sell it because it isn't fireproof

We used Movecube, went with a medium container @ R13k ish and sold a lot. In reality, with the availability and low cost of things here (as well as freecycling), should have sold even more and just stuck with a small one for near and dear stuff. You get the boxes, mark a space wherever and pack your stuff, they then arrange a pick up date and you have 2 guys help pack it up

This, especially electrical equipment. I personally wouldn’t ship any furniture or consumer electronics. Not even a pc.

Oh, one thing my wife does regret is not bringing enough of her kitchen stuff. Serving platters, some tupperware, pyrex dishes, etc. Obviously all can be bought here but considering we gave most of it away because it wasn't used, i not a great fan of replacing it :p
