Anyone used shipto before? The customs declaration is done by yourself online where you type in goods value.

Anyone ever type incorrect value and what happens ? Also does our customs give a lot of hustle if the retailers invoice is removed by mistake ?

Feel free to PM :D

Anyone ?

Especially about one where package comes in without retailer invoice but with Commercial Invoice from shipping company.

If a parcel is intercepted by customs and it does not have a value declaration or if they dispute the declared value they issue the recipient with a notice to produce their ID, invoice of purchase and in some cases bank accounts showing the amount paid. Once they have that they will add 14% + 25% and forward the parcel to your post office where you can pay the amount due.

I once had to ask a friend in Germany to please send me their credit card statement as proof of the value of an item that was sent to me as gift.

i have used them before , they offer very cheap shipping via tnt express.

tnt does the customs clearance for you , you pay then R180 fee plus the vat fee.

My customs charges was based on value i declared for my laptop , so i saved a few bucks.

it was 2nd hand laptop so i declared what i paid for it , even know a new model would cost allot more.
