Hi guys,

A mate of mine is shipping a small parcel from the US to South Africa. What's the most cost-effective way of doing this is?

ie. FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL?

I know SA Customs is an issue with incoming parcels, however, trying to minimise frustrations and make this an easy process.

Thanks in advance

DHL is normally the best, and their service is good as well. Customs, you just pay any fees due to DHL and they handle the clearing process for you. It might take a few days depending on how busy/lazy customs are on that particular day though.

What ever you do avoid sapo..

yea, IOW avoid USPS.

Ordered some stuff from the US in October, they sent it via USPS Priority.
Arrived in my office in February.

DHL

They have their own customs processing facility, this means they're lightning fast compared to the rest, avoid USPS (As they will send through SAPO)

I did not know that. So that is why they tag on their high customs clearance processing charges while others don't always charge or will charge a nominal amount.
