I bought a 1.6 Comfortline polo in February 2011 which means the car is just over a year old with 25k on the clock.
I took the car to Lindsay saker fourways to check a rattle that happens when the aircon starts up and when you accelerate exactly at 1700rpm. After inspection by lindsay saker Fourways I was told that it's the Aircon compressor that makes the noise and needs replacement, told me they will call back in one week.
Needless to say after 2 weeks I called back only to be told that the sound of rattling at certain refs is a characteristic of the car and I need to live with it. Upon further discussion I was told that VW does not pay them pack if they replace the part so tough luck.
Seriously!! Why do we have a guarantee on the car? Is it a characteristic that the car rattles when accelerating? Will never buy a VW after this again, second time I received shocking after sales support and 2 new cars...
Thinking of just selling it and buying a fortuner with 120k on the clock.
