Shootout leaves suspected robber dead

A suspected robber has been killed and another wounded in a shootout in Bryanston, north of Johannesburg today.

Authorities say a Coin Security Guard was patrolling the area this morning when he was alerted to a break-in at a house and found four men on the property – two of which were armed.

It's alleged one of the suspects shot at the guard who returned fire - killing him.

Another suspect was wounded in the incident while his two accomplices were quickly arrested.

The police's Sanku Tsunke says the suspects jumped the wall hoping to attack the gardener but he saw them and ran to alert the guard.

Good news indeed... Moral of the story? Don't over work the gardener...
