Does something like short term medical aid exist.
We are emigrating on the 5th of April, and I really don't want to pay a month of premiums for 5 days cover.
Any recommendations for this?

Yeah, stay home for 5 days and keep the doors locked. Don't use the kettle or oven. Stay away from bananas. Don't get near a sharp or pointy object. Don't shower or bath.

I just know that if I wanted to know about medical aid coverage I would ask the medical aid provider and not the IT-sector people.

But please do update with whatever they say, it's an interesting point.

Travel insurance is another option. Speak to your credit card company. They do temp cover for people away from home, technically that kind of fits you.

Yep, travel insurance is the solution. No such thing as short term medical aid, unless you scam a medical aid.
