Short Term Medical Aid

Does something like short term medical aid exist.
We are emigrating on the 5th of April, and I really don't want to pay a month of premiums for 5 days cover.
Any recommendations for this?

Here is an idea...

Move all the money out of the account they debit from.
Let it bounce. They will still consider you covered until like the 7th which is when they get bitchy.
Once you leave SA send them the cancellation email.
Never look back.

Can't your existing provider pro rata you for the 5 days?

Ive asked them and they (Discovery) said no.
Have to pay the full month.
Guess I will just move to a hospital plan for those 5 days.

What medical aid will you have in the country you are emigrating to, maybe they can offer some kind of travel cover for the 5 days you are in Sa before leaving?

Since you no longer a member of SA, travel medical insurance?

If you cancel a medical aid policy, cant it be reinstated within a a month as long as you up to date on your payments and you catch up with your missed payment? I may be wrong on this, maybe read over your policy and double check.
