Shortcut key issue

Not sure what the problem is, but I have assigned a couple of shortcut keys to a couple of apps on my notebook (Dell D820 XP Prof SP2). On occasion when entering the shortcut to launch the application the notebook freezes for like 2 mins, nothing can be clicked moved etc. then suddenly the app starts up and the PC then cycles through all the clicks that were buffered up. If I run the app directly from the desktop by just double clicking it then no prob all works 100% This happens with all the apps not anyone specific that are launched via a shortcut key.

Anybody have any ideas what this is? How to stop it etc.

Chances are you are having a driver issue. I have had similar issues with my HP, only to be sovled with the newest drivers. Search for the newest drivers for your "quicklaunch" or whatever they are called at Dell and install those.

Agreed, this is almost definitely a driver issue.
