should children be forced to eat? I'm talking about children from the ages of 2 to 8

I'm of the opinion that they should be forced to eat, small children do not know what's good for them...

Simple solution : Cooking Classes. ;)
I've never seen a kid struggle to eat good food, even if it's veggies. :D

If we don't sometimes force our kids to eat the one will never get proper food in. She only want to eat the sweets, cookies, or the meat on her plate

You force your kid to eat and he could have problems later in life regarding food. Anorexia isn't just the Hollywood disease.

Remember how your kid thinks of you. You're his be all end all in life. And if you force food he doesn't want into his mouth, that's going to have a negative effect on your relationship. Children of those ages may not know what's good for them but they understand infinitely more than you'd believe.

And I agree, learn to cook. Play the airplane or the car or the ducky and zoom zoom that goop into his mouth. Play with him while he eats, let him enjoy it. That way he'll associate good things with eating and thus won't be so difficult.

It's one way to give them complexes and serious problems like Anorexia and Bulimia. Some of it will also be passed to their own children.

I was forced to eat when I was hungry. If I didn't eat my veggies and my parents would have left me I would just eat some sweets or something late at night.

Also don't have any eating disorders

No, you don't force a child to eat, but you have to teach them to eat healthy food!
When they are hungry they will eat.

Speaking from personal experience - no. Parent and child lose out in the end. When a child's truely hungry, they'll eat.

I were forced to eat my veggies, but looking back I'm glad they did force me.

On the other hand, I were also forced to eat; oatmeal, malta-*******-bella, and not-tastywheat. I am bitter about it to this day.

Eat what's on your plate or you get a crack. No McDonalds, no sh|t. That's how I was brought up. I think it's the right way, kids these days are spoilt little sh|ts, 'I don't drink water, I only drink soda, wa wa wa wa'. One slap on the back of the head is what you'll get from me. I don't believe in child psychologists and all this bullsh|t, it wasn't needed 20 years ago and it isn't needed now. I'm going to raise my children properly. To appreciate what they get. I would have loved to have a good meal every night when I was a kid.
