Should I get an Iphone5?

I buy a 600mb bundle every 2 months for my iphone and last month I had 100mb left when it expired.

Same here, I buy a 2.3GB data bundle + night owl from Vodacom for R349, it rolls over till the next month, so I'm paying R175 a month for 1.2GB data bundle.

Don't buy a smartphone if you're not willing to buy data bundles, just get yourself a Nokia. :p

*And if you're willing to get a phone that most probably will cost R11000 cash (Apple tax included), then how the hell are you too cheapskate to buy a proper data bundle for your phone? The mind boggles.

Don't make any calls on the cash price just yet... The iPhone 4 was cheaper than the 3GS when it launched here and I just don't see prices jumping that much on the new one.

Thanks

Thanks guys! thats what I wanted to see...some figures..lol
For the record...I never said that I am not willing to pay the data charges...I just wanted to get an idea of how much I will pay for data..is that so wrong? ROFL
R150-R200 pm is fine... I was just worried that it will range to like R400-R500 pm (which is what I pay for 50Gb unshaped data monthly...:wtf:)
Still think our network providers are robbing us blindly with data charges... would like to know what percentage profit they make on 3g...
must be an insane amount..

Yep...I also read they are predicting the price to be to same as the current one(not the special price we have atm) or even less expensive.
With HTC and Samsung bringing out amazing new devices about every 3months apple just wont be able to justify a R11000 price tag IMO.
One big reason that I also want an Iphone is that it carries it's second hand value much better than any android phone, which actually is the case for any Apple product IMO. (notice...I said IMO...so dont attack me lol)

My guesstimate is that a dual core iPhone with a bigger screen won't come cheap, that is when it finally arrives & Apple can sort out the overheating problems.

If we go back three years....my iPhone 3G was R8500 cash when it launched in 2008, which might be closer to the iPhone 5 cash price. R2000 Apple tax, R6500 real value, like the Samsung Galaxy S2 & HTC Evo 3D and Sensation.

Like I said, jan is over five months away.packages and prices will vary and so will phones vary at the time. How could you possibly make a sound decision now?

Also, everyone's data usage will vary. I use about 200 MB some months but you know what, thats nothing compared to the money we spend on other things. Go to the local supermarket for bread and milk and you end up spending R300 for 2 packets of junk.

I digress.

Maybe it was mentioned in this forum and I missed it. But when is the new iPhone gonna be released and roughly when will it be in SA?
I'm on a talk 130 with vc and I would really like an iPhone but not sure if I want to pay anything extra for the new model, currently with an N97 (sh.tty seven). My dad has an iPhone 4 and have played with it and its A1. My contract is up for renewal from November

So long story short. Get an iPhone 4 or wait and for the new phone and maybe have to pay extra for?????

I like to make my mind up beforehand...keeps me from making the wrong choice... I have wireless at home yeah... and at work...thats how I use my phone atm.

Problem is, you don't know what new android phones will be released by then...
