Well i have decided to spoil myself and get a new game for my PS3 - its gonna annoy my wife cause she cant play
with

I love my COD MW2 and think its an awesome game, and I really like those kinda games.

Should I try something new and get BF3 - please note i dont have ADSL

Or should I just get MW3??

Opinions differ i know but lets see

Thats like asking should you get a Porsche or should you get a skateboard.

Get bf3 man, its the Porsche :D ... ok well more an Alfa if we take engineering quality into account.

I played a little MW2 and a LOT of BOs and really loved them! I played almost no Battlefield multiplayer until the BF3 beta. It plays very differently to the COD series and generally is most enjoyable when playing with a functional team.
All I play now is BF3 :)

If you're suggesting you're buying more for singleplayer, ultimately the choice is yours. Even though the SP for Battlefield has taken some criticism, I'm thoroughly enjoying it (when I can take my gritty paws away from MP). COD's I think are generally perceived to be the better SP experience though.

:D That was good!!

and do i need an internet connection for BF3??

Bud in all honesty, if you're buying BF3 for the singleplayer, you're getting it for the wrong (although very enjoyable) reason.

BF3 first

Then later, MW3

They both great games, but BF3 is definately better.
I had a choice as did many of my friends between which to pre-order - 90% of us pre-ordered BF3.

Gdiza, id am lead to understand that an internet connection is needed so i guess BF3 is out for me??

Don't bother with bf 3 if you are not going to jam online dude.

It really depends on what you like, bf 3 is exactly like cod except bigger and better. It's cod on steroids.

They have taken cod's game play and integrated with the bf series game play and it's bloody epic actually. COD better have something amazing or bf 3 will dominate it.

The nice thing about bf 3 it is not the same run gun die kill scenario round after round. There is so much to do. It's like being in a war zone.

Both games are more geared towards multiplayer online play, and that's where the value lies. You'll be getting a relatively short singleplayer experience for your money with both. If singleplayer was the only criteria, I'd sway towards MW3.

If you're not dead set on either of these and are not concerned about multiplayer then maybe look at something like the new Batman or Assassin's Creed.

The battlefield series is in the name-its like a real battlefield. Its epic in everything it does - the scale of the maps, the weapons, the destruction, the teamplay etc etc.
COD - a bloody brilliant shooter, but its more for the 'arena' type player, who just wants to run around and shoot.

Seeing that you dont have ADSL, I would say BF3 is out of the question. Battlefield is traditionally an online multi-player FPS, the campaign is simply an element which came further down the line.

For COD, the fun is also mainly online. Online play is the reason 80% of people buy these games. However, in my opinion and from what I've read, COD provides the better campaign (which is all you will be able to play since you are not going to play online).

Just a heads up though, since these games are essentially created for online play, the campaigns are only about 5-7 hours long, after which your R500 is depleted.

My suggestion - go for neither. Rather get a game which is entirely based around a campaign, so you can get your money's worth from hours and hours of play (for example dragon age which is all about the campaign which will last you up to 30 hours). If you do however see yourself getting ADSL in the future, get BF3.

Its the same old just with worse graphics, looks "smudgy", like an uncomfortable mix between mw2 and cod4. Got into it a bit and had some good games last night but after a hour i got bored with running around tiny maps and went back to bf3, missed my tank too much :D

ok well i really would love to have ADSL @ home but Telkom has no infrustructure where i am
