As most of you know I am interested in Linux etc, customizing them etc. I was thinking it seems that a lot of people want to try it. However do not because there is no one there to guide them.

After reading the above thread, it got me thinking. Isn't there possibly a market for this. Where I could start my own "basic" Linux training sessions. Perhaps charge R100 for an hour class or something?

Do you all think this could work and I could get something off the ground?

anything is possible, however, most ppl who might be interested in linux would want some kind of study material/certificates/qualifications etc....

Hmmm that is also a good point. I guess I am thinking of the average home user. Who just wants to know how to send and receive e-mails, documents etc.

The average home user wont use linux at the moment....I think you would find business scarce, rather sign up as instructor for place like torque It,

Can you teach? Knowing a subject well (presumably) is not teaching. Sometimes you even have to be a bit doff to teach well.
Just a thought.

Yes I can actually teach. In high-school not only did I give the teachers computer classes but was paid to give extra, maths and accounting to GR11's and GR12's!

I'm not so sure, if the averadge home user has someone to show them how to use linux some of them might just switch to get away from those expensive licence fees.
