Should I switch to 'uncapped' smart internet?

Hey people

So my area is still stuck on really ****ty 2mbit copper and fibre isn't gonna arrive here any time soon, I currently have an Axxess uncapped business account with the 2mbit line. I recently saw the Telkom mobile 100gb+100gb deal and thought since the household only downloads +-100gb a month at most that maybe it would be a better solution as long as downloads are scheduled. The internet in my house is used for p2p, streaming (when possible) as well as social media, emails etc.

Anyone here made a similar switch and willing to share their opinion?

The other thing is that I currently have an Asus RT-N56U router, if i don't want to use Telkoms Huawei LTE router then what good dongle can I get to work with the router?

Have almost the same setup. The netgear will be a bit painful to setup but it can be done.

Currently have TPLink W8970 + Netgear for Wifi.

Trialing the LTE speeds at the moment.. Will probably replace the TP Link with the LTE router on my end.

I wouldnt ever switch to wireless if i had ADSL, even 2Meg (i currently have 1 meg). Pings are good and stable.

@Pho3nix
What are your pings like currently? Also are the data top ups reasonably prices?

@Rickster
Are LTE pings still terrible? I've heard better things about them recently.

Not that the pings are bad on lte, but it can be very unpredictable at times, also adsl has more value for money.

LTE is similar if not superior to ADSL.

All depends on your coverage. I'm on LTE, will never go back to wired even fibre. My LTE runs at 50 Mbps off peak and 25 Mbps on peak. Never lags and gets the job done. streams at 1080p. Read other treads on LTE.

PS Use the Trial LTE request at bottom of telkom site.

If you have LTE coverage then yes. To be honest i would drop my ADSL line in a heartbeat the day that i ever get an uncapped LTE connection. Been used a small LTE capped package and everything works like butter, that connection has never disappointed me the way my ADSL line does. Go for it if you can

Sorry I never replied. Pings are 20-40 local and 150-200 international. Haven't been dropped from games or seen any stuttering.
