So, what you're doing is assuming that Win7 does not suffer from the same slowdown problem that XP suffers from.

got it up and running with no problems, thats if you don't count the big sinking feeling when I relised I had not backed up my Firefox bookmarks, plugins, passwords and stuff

I prefer not to keep it there anymore. My account got hacked by Chinese hackers and then my friends got spammed. Not cool.
