Hi, As per previous posts ...i bought a new amd 5000+ from matrix 2 weeks back...it only came with 512mb of ram...i just purchased another 2gigs from matrix on friday but still i notice its a bit slow ...my previous pc amd 2000+ was faster than this one ! any ideas why ? it has a 160g hdd with about 60gigs free...i have avg installed so dont think i have any viruses etc the motherboard is a bio star for amd 2+ processors and processor amd 5000+ core2duo, 2.5gigs of ram now ddr2 600mhz i think and 450psu...i have xp installed... sp 2 (not to sure will double check that)... please excuse me if the specs arent that acurate im new to pc's ...

Have you had a look at your task manager to see what's running that could be hogging your resources?

Try running Disk cleanup, Defrag and also disable startup items via MSCONFIG
