Should love be hard work?

Interesting comments, i really relate to how the OP feels.

It has to be 50/50. If the other party is not 'investing' in this relationship (probably hoping for something better), then its not worth it. As they say, cut your losses and bounce!

dude im in the same situation... u have to keep at it
but at some point something needs to happen... u can't wait for ever

Thanks, good to know I'm not the only one (sucker?) in the same situation.

The question if how long to wait: when is too long too long?

Couple to that, even if she said she wants more she happens to live in a city a good 5 hours drive away  So maybe her rejection of the idea at the moment is a good one (something I orginally said when we first hit it off as I thought I wouldn't be conversing with her every day and visiting her all the time).

Thanks man! Sometimes this whole "falling in love" thing isn't the romantic screenplay Hollywood wants us to believe it is. Suppose I should have guessed that when I looked in the mirror this morning and Brad Pitt didn't stare back :p

Love is easy...relationships take work ;)

Hear hear! If only love resolved all issues, lifted every moment of insecurity and garaunteed happiness. v

The world would be a better place ...
