The discharge accidentally in restaurant and then Reeva. Let him out but dont let him anywhere near guns or someone else is going to get it.

He has served his time. He will not do the same in the future. He is rebilitated. No danger to society. Move on.

As a past convit he won’t be able to legally own a firearm again.

Isn't he only eligible in 2023?
And pardon I changed my vote to undecided. It is for the parole hearing to determine if he should be granted parole. And we can only hope that they do so ably.

Edit: Ok I see his lawyer managed to bring his eligibility forward. Nvm.

How do you know he is rehabilitated? he has shown NO remorse or taken ANY accountability for murdering another human being.

You do realize that it's easier to get an illegal firearm then a legal on in this country?

No we are far to soft on crime as is.He did not half kill her he did not half end her family and friends ability to still have her in their lives.....

If he doesn't get parole I'll be stumped. Such a pity for Oscar that Blade Nzimande isn't minister of Justice and Correctional services.

I am a rehabilitated narcissist myself. Go on, you honestly think he would do it again, really?

I do. You think Oscar would take the risk? He is not a taxi driver..

He has not served his full time... No remorse also means... given the situation or similar even would repeat....he would do the same.

So i would say, No!

Or rapists.
Or pedophiles.
Or human traffickers.
Et al.
I agree. They must not serve just a few years and let back into society.

Yes.. they got a scare.. they might seem "better". Once they back in their element, the old habits and schemes start again. This is normally a lifestyle.. they make their money and rest by those things. If it's not for money they do it for the thrill, that is even harder to get out of the system.

South Africa has a messed up sense of right and wrong. JZ is still out and about isnt he? I am pretty sure there are murderers and rapists who have served less time than Oscar and done far worse. Oscar just happens to be popular or infamous - depending on how you view him.

They can both sit in Jail for all i care, including all the other Skelms. If they commit the crime...they must do the time. No half measures.

Yes - without a shadow of a doubt.
I have personal experience with violent people like him; no amount of therapy helped.

He has a long history of aggression and dangerous behavior ... I seriously doubt prison would have made him soft; if anything he will come our worse.
