You're clueless right? Do you have children and have you tried to teach them whilst holding down your job? And if not, then you don't have a clue and shouldn't pass judgement or comment.
You have one kid in pre-school?

What could you possibly be teaching them that is so demanding on your resources?

Maybe she has a demanding job? And can't afford a domestic like we can at home. Thought of that? Put yourself in her shoes, don't be a dunce.
You never answered my questions about whether or not you have children. Answer honestly.

Our school opens on the 20th, the have a good covid plan in place. It works. So I think schools should open. Plus having kids run around in the streets puts them at risk.

No person would a kid would make a comment like that, especially with a day care aged kid. At that aged they need care and attention constantly, not easy if you have to work from home.

Agreed Rajah. But they won't answer. It's stupid to make statements like that without being a parent. Stupid and ignorant, in which case it's better just to keep quiet and not pass judgement.

Just received a message from my kids school. It was supposed to reopen on the 20th but apparently the Dept of Basic Education has "made a decision that no school may open before 15 Feb".

So it's back to online learning next week.

The only thing I can find online is that the command council wants to delay, not that a ruling has been made. I suspect your kids school has jumped the gun here?

This will be in tomorrow's 'big' announcement :(

They might have. But this is the gist of what I have also heard from a reliable source.

Private schools are due to go back on Monday, 18 January, will need some notice so they can inform parents and ready themselves for their alternatives. This is possibly why some schools are already notifying parents.

From my own observation the advocates against reopening schools (or now the new school year) have grown as much as my Telegram contacts list.

Private schools in Gauteng are already back, though?

Well, we'll see. Thankfully I'll be at work so it's dads nightmare to deal with if that is in fact the case.
