I’d also add, the UK has really tightened up on granting asylum, it’s down by a significant percentage over the last 5 years.

The data shows that 4,981 grants of asylum were made in the year to June 2018 – 26 per cent fewer than in the 12 months before. Less than a fifth (18 per cent) of applications were granted in the past year, compared with 25 per cent the year before and 39 per cent in 2014/15.

There was a rise in the number of grants of alternative forms of protection, such as on settlement or family reunification schemes, with the figure rising from 962 to 1,255 in the past year. But the comparatively small numbers mean this does not make up for the drop in people granted asylum.

It isn't, source: direct family friend shot and killed one of two intruders in his home about a year ago, was never arrested.

Naturally he phoned the police himself to report the incident and cooperated all the way, he was still investigated of course, and later cleared of any wrongdoing. But never arrested, didn't spend a single night in jail.

In France, Germany... your family friend would have been arrested and jailed for 10 years. The media would have mentioned the killed one was a nice man who did that due to the colonialists

Where are you from? You claim to be an Englishman in other threads but South Africans know more about the geography of the UK than you. Plus your English is absolutely atrocious ('who are those countries?'). You admit to spending most of your miserable days trolling a South African forum. You have trolled multiple threads baiting people using this 'pride' gripe as bait. Yet you do not compute. Tell us your story outside the train wreck we see in your post history..

Besides him being flatly wrong, the subtext is that the existence of some arbitrary % of non-white people = catastrophe, merely by their presence. Would act all huffy if called a racist, though.

Except yes that is exactly how it works. from the article Cray posted.

The advocate, who specialises in criminal cases and therefore cannot be named, said the police had “far-reaching” powers of arrest, according to the Criminal Justice Act, and a situation could “depend on the mood” of the arresting officer. But the police were “not morons” and had been trained, and could see something at the crime scene to make them suspicious. “That’s why they have the power to make that decision there and then,” she said.
