It seems to have the ability for the clock to switch to a music player when you click the headphones, but I'm struggling to get that to work properly.

[-]Hmmm... I don't think that's possible.

I think that it's two screens- one with the clock on it, the other with the Media Utilities widget on it, with a non-scrollable dock.[/-]

Scratch that. The widget is called "musiclock". Perhaps it only works when the headphones are connected?

I'm going to setup this screen specifically to find out how it works.

The widget works quite simply. It switches to music view when the music is playing. But it doesn't display the nice rounded transparent border properly so i'm not sure what's up with that.

I couldn't get mine to work. Also tried, just to see it working. Did you add anything else except the clock and the dock?

It looks like the headphone icon on the dock, set's a viariable that the clock picks up to display the album art. Doesn't seem to work with me though.

Yes I think that's the case. I'm using Doubletwist as my audio player and if I press Play it switches the view to the album art more or less like the screenshot, except not quite as nice looking because I think I'm not tweaking it properly.

Well, I now got my media control working after installing "Media Utilities" from mycolorscreen.

On the dock, is your music icons changing whether the music is playing or not?

Our internet here is broken so I can barely get online or I would have posted a screenshot. I haven't got it configured with the dock yet.

When you say "not quite as nice"... Is it an issue with the possible resolution of the album art?

It's not scaling the album art properly. In the screenshot you have the transparent border and it's just not coming through properly on my phone - it cuts off the sides of the image. if there was a way to render the art in a round way it would work perfectly.

Think I know what your problem is. Open media utilities, and go into settings. first make sure you have Zooper ticked, and then scrolled to the bottom. There I have ticked 'Make coverart available" and set the Coverart Shape to circle. Also ticked Send Song Progress.

@Maverick Jester did you get it working?

Haven't had a chance to load it yet. Do you mind posting a screenshot to see what the problem is?

OK, I understand what you mean by this. perhaps one could get around it by having higher resolution album art? That way, the image would not be scaled up to fit the widget, by scaled down to fit into the widget (if that makes any sense).
