Pulled the trigger on the new CW Sealander C63 GMT with the Dragonfly dial. Also really wanted an Oris Big Crown Pointer, but the one I liked didn't have red on the pointer, which put me off, even with a big discount offered. So the C63 it was, should arrive this week.

Might use the money "saved" by going for C63 over the Oris for a Alpinist SPB121, which should round out my collection for a few years. :whistling:
What did you finally pay in Rand's if I may ask? It's an absolute beauty.

Nice one. I’d really like to see a CW in the flesh.

I prefer the Alpinist to the Oris…

Paid in Euros, was 1350 with the bracelet, so around R27k. The strap ones are around 200 Euros less. Think they do ship to SA, but duties would be killer.

Pretty sure he is in the UK
Back and forth between SA and Germany. Making a long term move to Ireland next though.

Mate has 2 CW pieces, lovely finishing for the price. Been eyeing one for a while and the new line looks killer, I'd also be happy with the white dial one. I'd have gone for the Seiko presage GMT but that would mean my presage would become a dust gatherer.

My biggest gripe with the Alpinist is the cyclops, really wish they had one without it, but can get a new one for around R12k which I think is very reasonable.

Also really wanted a Nomos Club, but tried one on recently, looks amazing but the lugs are too long for my wrists.

Really like the dials of most Nomos watches but always hold off because of the long lugs. Really don't understand why all their models seem to have them. Very prohibitive for us with tiny wrists :cautious:

Eish, so buying through CW was quite a hassle. Had to cancel the order as they hadn't shipped it out in the prescribed time (was in stock when I ordered). I was going to be away when they said they'd be able to ship it, so had to cancel the order. Fortunately the refund process was pretty good.

I still want the C63, however there's a new Seiko Alpinist GMT coming out in October that might scratch my GMT and Alpinist itch. No cyclops either!

Seriously tempted but the price point is rather high imo, €1500.

Unlucky, but maybe not :D
That Seiko looks beautiful. It’s gonna be very popular.
But the movement is too “basic”. Sure, it’s got 72hours, but looking at the seconds hand running at 28,880 just feels better than 21,600.

But it looks so good, I’d say go for it

Yeah, especially at the price point but that's seiko of late for you, prices getting out of hand. Will have to wait for some reviews as it ticks a lot of boxes.

Was on Mr Jones site and finally they have stock of some of their funky pieces again. Might grab a fun quartz one I've been eyeing.

GMT refers to there being an extra 24hr hour hand or sub-dial that can be set to a different time zone?

Old Seiko I picked up in Udaipur Open Market in India... Kinetic and just keeps going. Needs a serious polish and some care but not an everyday watch. Only when I'm feeling nostalgic...
