I did some digging and doing some reverse image searches and gov.uk lookups, which showed a company that is only 4 years old registered in the UK. The image of their "swiss office" is a doctored photo of a legitimate Swiss watch factory/office (Via Penate 16, 6850 Mendrisio, Switzerland). That same factory also seems to produce the exact same watches for "Roamer", "Jacques Du Manoir", and "Balco", amongst other companies. Those companies list the same watches at around £200-300, not the £1500-3000 Christophe Duchamp wants you to pay. The "Discount" Christophe Duchamp provides just brings the watches down to their real market value. The exorbitantly higher price tag is most likely just to create a false sense of luxury to draw people in to use the discount, and also a way of scamming the few people who come across their website organically through Google and don't realise it's not actually a proper luxury watch company.

In other words it is technically a legit company, but it's just a seller of wholesale generic watches which aren't anything special or worth much. It's a much better idea to just get something better and higher quality from a more reputable brand that isn't trying to fabricate or hide their history/image.

I have a guy that I met locally and then he sent me to his guy overseas, when I was there a few months back, he has some of the best knock offs I have ever seen.
So I bought a few Panerais and a Rolex, very expensive and high end, come in boxes and have certificates

There are a few you tube videos out there comparing some of the high end knock offs to the genuine ones, you basically need to be a professional watch guy to be able to spot the differences.

So I guess you also believe the "savings" and original pricing on the Takealot website?

Those are overpriced quartz watches. Says "Swiss made".😄
It's about as much Swiss as my dog...

Fair value of those watches I would say is +- R2-3K ... at best.
Was just interesting.... and also, i dont believe "savings"

was just a ? .....

Thanks for the explanation though.....

Now imagine wearing it in SA and getting maimed or killed even ....for a fake watch.. :X3:

The real Duchamp is a shirtmaker. They seem to have gone very boring but used to make some very fruity paisley shirts back in the day.

With apologies to the guy on here who has a real FXD.

I've been after a PVD or DLC, 'tactical' looking casual dive shtter for a while. Too many had bad orangey plongeur hands or cheesy text on the dial. I got this off Amazon US, handily with tax already calculated.

The MN strap isn't stretchy or all that good but this will do very nicely.

Those are lume blocks for the indices. Matt dial like my Pelagos with very decent printing.

Yes it is.

Forgot to mention - 40mm, very thin and runs a Seiko mechaquartz. Nice to have the Tudor look without the fat, slab sided case.

Bezel aside, it is dress watch thin so will be perfect for fitting under bike jackets.

FXD stying is just too hot 🔥

No Swatch/AP making an appearance here
The ads on social media made this look super cool then on release day everyone saw it was a pocket watch with toy like colours . Looks cheap and not worth the price tag
