Netflix SA doesn’t really have much but it still much better than Showmax.

I have both but still mainly use Kodi.

Showmax is good, no doubt about it. For R 99 very well worth it. I couple it with all the rest. However if you need to decide between the two... Netflix by a country mile.

Especially since The Ranch S4 coming on the 15th!!!

In my humble opinion Netflix is far better. What Showmax need to get right are

1. Broadcast in full HD
2. Broadcast in dolby digital
3. Better/more content.

Netflix really have some great original series on their platform. I have both Netflix and Showmax and I rarely if ever watch Showmax.

I have Showmax for the kids shows (Afrikaans) and other local content. HBO shows you can download via torrents

Yeah I had Showmax for the free month about 3 months ago and cancelled as didn't find much to watch.
Have been using Kodi for 4 years but lately the streams are terrible even though the 10meg ADSL is fine.
Subbed to Netflix last night so let's see how it goes

Yes, since April 2016 DTSV Premium Subscribers could add it to their Bouquet on the Explorer at a price, it became free earlier this year. So you are 100% correct

I had Showmax...cancelled it. Got Showmax again....considering cancelling again. I had a DSTV SD PVR. It was the most satisfying sound when I threw it in the bin...especially the clunk and crack sound when it hit the bottom.

Currently have Netflix and Showmax. The whole time I have had it I have only watched one series on it. The only reason I have it is that my son loves Spongebob and a few other shows that he couldn't watch anymore because I cancelled DSTV.

When starting a Showmax show it always starts pixellated then corrects itself. Netflix never starts pixelated.
I have a Samsung Smart TV. The Showmax app sucks. It does not show all shows thus you always have to search. Netflix shows all shows. Netflix show the synopsis of the show at the top. Showmax you have to go into the show first before getting the synopsis and it is slow. Netflix has profiles thus each family member has their own profile and favorite shows are easily accessed and shows are recommended according to your viewing history. Showmax....nothing.

The only thing Showmax has that Netflix does not is local content otherwise it sucks in comparison.

I have showmax just for the youngun - lots of kid shows on it that she likes.

I am not a series watching person, like to rather watch movies, so either Itunes via apple tv, or ye good ol torrents.

Might actually try Netflix SA again to see what they have.
