Showmax login problem

Hi everyone,
I hope in posting this in the right section, if not somebody please advise me where to move my question and I will do so.
We have dstv premium incl obv showmax. Loadshedding among other things finally drove me to download the dstv now app. No problems, I download what I want to watch and I can watch it whenever. So now I thought I'll just get me the showmax app too then I can really have some fun.
Ok so now I've got the app downloaded, next step is obviously to try and sign in. Dstv connect ID doesn't work. I can sign in online with my dstv username and pw, but if I try to sign into the app using the exact same un/pw combo it tells me that it doesn't know who I am. Is it a glitch in the app or am I missing something /doing something wrong? Can somebody please tell me?

How do I watch Showmax on DStv?

Showmax is not a channel on DStv. Showmax is an internet TV service that is accessible on internet-connected devices like tablets, laptops, smartphones, gaming consoles, media players, Smart TVs, DStv Exploras. Plus, it's available at no cost to DStv Premium subscribers.

@joshuatree, thank you. I've always assumed that they are supposed to be linked. There's definitely a glitch somewhere in their system, I discovered on closer inspection that the dstv now app has a link to showmax. I clicked on the link, it takes you to showmax, but the moment you want to say watch a movie and you have to log in, it tells me Unknown email /password. So yeah that's interesting. So I'll just take it to the dstv shop in town sometime and pick their brains about it. Maybe they can explain it to me.
