So they're not even going to keep it up long enough to transition people over to their Canal Streaming service. Interesting.

I was expecting them to keep Showmax up long enough to launch their own service and then transition people over, to keep them paying.

Just in time for the end of the English Premier League.

Will I need to pay a fortune for a DSTV subscription to watch or will they have an equivilent option to Showmax

Besides dstv, what else is a better option for streaming?? Some of showmax content wasn't bad and isn't bad. Amazon prime is affordable and Netflix.

"Selected content" as opposed to "Everything"...

Now this is the article I expected: https://techcabal.com/2026/03/09/for-every-1-showmax-made-it-lost-2-50/

They only really started adding reactions about 5 or 6 years ago and it looks like they're not regular poster.

I subbed to Showmax once for a month to watch something that was not available on other platforms, then whenever I wanted to watch it buffers like crazy (100mbs line) and it was unwatchable, then when I wanted to contact them I realize its hard to reach a human to talk to, and then cancelled.

Fortunately that show has been added to Netflix recently and no issue streaming there :)

Same. They made all kinds of assurances about a "smooth transition". This all feels quite rushed.
