And? What’s your point. I lead a pretty first world lifestyle here, so I’m allowed to have first world problems.
On the flip side, it’s those living in third world conditions that suffer the most under this practice. The ones who can’t afford to just buy 2 packets of frozen veg per week, because they survive hand to mouth on a weekly wage. Do previously the 1 pack a week was enough, but now it’s not. So now they have to buy 2 of the smaller packages (at a higher price/kg) just to get buy.
Also, in real first world countries, this type of practice is banned under their consumer rights laws
Exactly. In civilised countries, retailers and manufacturers are called out and even fined for similar practices. There is an easy way to stop it from happening, let the DTI actually do something useful for a change and enforce some standards, including standard sizes for packaging of basic foodstuffs. Like they do for bread etc. a “goverment loaf” is standardised, and needs to be the same weight and size everywhere. Beer has standard units in which it must be packaged, as does wine and spirits.Shrinkflation is somewhat deceptive, a d should be banned.
But, how? Prices are the same, content/weight/size is less, but often in the same familiar packaging.
Technically, nothing is hidden. It's just scummy.
Just look out for the Rand per litre or kg and sorted.
It's also buying a 500g tin of Milo, using 3 spoons...whoops few years later 4 spoons, soon 5 spoons. You are missing the point. Obviously I do that. That’s the only way to keep track of the real cost of things, but the price p/kg isn’t what annoys me, it’s being forced to buy things in awkward quantities.

It's the same spoons I have bought for years....Are your spoons getting smaller?
With liners inside?I just want coca-cola bottle caps to be normal size again.
I could swear since they're removed the liners, the coke becomes flat very very quickly.No. The normal caps. Not this slimline crap of they introduced recently.
Dude may have been eleven in 2008 and so now it’s just that his hand is bigger.
Please ban recipe/formula changes too. Latest is the "new improved" Sunlight dishwashing liquid. Thinner now, and with an awful chemical smell.
Why is your kitchen table leather?
Generally the smaller sweats would happen after less sugar and more gym, so partially yes.Wasn't the reason for smaller versions of sweats and coldrinks because of sugar tax?
