It'll have an Intel Celeron processor, a 945GC chipset, 512MB of memory and either a 60GB or 80GB hard drive. What it won't have: an optical drive or a PCI Express slot. Despite that, it's a pretty good-looking box, and comes in red, blue, white, and black, each with a different icon stamped on the front.

Have a look at the link. It is a pretty little box

gooooooo linux.

For the naysayers:

While I have not yet seen this PCs specs, I am going to go out on a limb and say I could probably do my daily dev work on that box.

I have an old P2, with 512MB of RAM here that I can use for my work - actually considering doing that, and using the PC I am on now as a media centre.

They better not sell this to skeptiks, cause skeptiks know better and cant use them. :D

Nice link moederloos. It really does sum up that point so nicely.

At a first glance it does not look bad :) the look of the case moves away from the norm.
They could end up selling them just for the look of the case. :D

R1.5K or so for a PC that would most likely be ample for the average office worker, sounds awesome.

Project #1 for me this year is to upgrade our Dohs boxes at work to linux.
They are all in dire need of an upgrade. Those that are not hardware damaged will be simply upgraded, and the rest replaced.
Considering a new Vista + Office PC will set us back over 7K (to be honest, I have no idea what M$ Office and Vista cost....), a cheapo with OO will win. Especially considering the average user uses: Web browser, email and Word.

20 Pcs @ 7K+ = 140K
replace say 20% of the current PCs + linux = 4*3K = 12K
Saving? 128K

If you wanna go for something worse, Im sure it would.

Thanks for quoting that before it was deleted... :D

You know what - as Linux takes a stronger hold, so M$ will have to get more Draconian with protecting their empire.
Luck to those who joke about their pirated software.

(Not that Killadoob has pirated software - but a knock on the door is bound to uncover something, however innocent the transgression may have been).

As Linux gets stronger, the Windows boys are ganna sound like the Mac boys, as they become apologetics for their OS.
